GRAPHIC ERA CELEBRATES ‘WORLD TOURISM DAY’

PROGRAMME ON STOPPING MIGRATION AND ENCOURAGING HOME STAY

27 September, 2019. The Department of Hospitality management of Graphic Era University celebrated World Tourism Day, today. The Department of Hospitality, GEU celebrated this day by conducting various events in the University premises.  

This year’s celebration is a remarkable and memorable one because the central theme for this year’s tourism day is “Tourism and Jobs” and India is the official host country for entire celebration conducted by UNWTO (United Nation World Tourism Organization). The Department of Hospitality, GEU celebrated this day by conducting various events namely Poster making, Rangoli competition, and Chef Competition. On this occasion, the students of the Department of Hospitality management encouraged home stay and rural tourism along with giving solutions to the major problem of migration and unemployment in the hilly areas. Vice chancellor of Graphic Era Deemed University said that the aim of celebrating World Tourism Day is to highlight the global significance of tourism as a tool for global development and cultural enlightenment.

On this occasion, Director H.R of Hotel Taj Rishikesh Mr.P.K Sharma –,Food and Beverage Manager of Hotel Four Points By Sheraton Mr.Sachin Kumar , Executive Chef  of U.K Central , Dehradun Mr.Akash Dixit, Dean of Hospitality management department R.C Pandey, Head of Hospitality management department Amar Dabral, faculty members and students were present. 

Graphic Era to organize a grand cycle rally on Gandhi Jayanti

Dehradun, 30 September: Graphic Era Deemed University and Graphic Era Hill University will jointly take out a cycle rally on October 2, as part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s fit India movement.

On the morning October 2, this rally will start from Graphic Era Deemed University at 7 am. The grand rally will reach Gandhi Park while passing through Saharanpur road, Paltan Bazaar and Dispensary road.  Students, teachers along with senior management officials will be participating in the rally. The rally will be flagged off by the State Higher Education minister, Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat. After reaching Gandhi Park, students will also perform Nukkad Natak based on the theme of cleanliness.

Elaborate arrangements have been made for this 11-km-long rally. Hundreds of students will be participating in this rally. The rally aims at turning Prime Minister’s movement for health and cleanliness into a mass movement.
