Graphic Era covered the longest area of Human Chain 

A number of students and teachers from Graphic Era were involved in making human series. The responsibility of creating a human chain from Mohkampur flyover to Aragar chowk was entrusted to Graphic Era Deemed University and Graphic Era Hill University. Students and the teachers of Graphic Era reached in the morning to form a human chain in this 50km long area. During this, the students took out small rallies and also gave the message of polythene-free green doon to the people. Chairman Graphic Era Group, Prof. Dr. Kamal Ghanshala said that this largest educational group in Uttarakhand had raised a 22km long cycle rally on 2nd october to awaken people regarding polythene-free, clean and green doon. Everyday students are participating in this campaign by organizing a rally in clement town. 

Department of Chemistry of Graphic era deemed university organized a two-day analytical workshop with CSIR Indian Institute of Petroleum. For the first time in Uttarakhand, the Department of Chemistry of Graphic Era Deemed University organized an "Analytical Instrument Hands-on Training workshop" in which CSIR scientific participants will get a chance to train with themselves in CSIR's lab. 

 In this workshop, in addition to the students of Graphic Era Deemed University, more than a hundred people got their registration done from different places across the country which includes Assistant Professors, Associate Professors and Scientist from different institutes from Rajasthan, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala and Coimbatore. Apart from this, scientists and high officials of the country's major institutions ONGC, Indian Oil, IST, FRI and Lupine will share their experiences in this workshop. In this workshop HPCL, VCMS, AAS, UV Visible, Infrared spectroscopy etc. will be taught to work on the equipment. These devices are used in various fields of biology, chemistry and engineering where oil is very useful in pharmaceutical and food technology. This workshop will be very useful for chemist scientists, teachers and engineers in the future run. 

Scientist discussed food adulteration testing techniques at Graphic Era

Dehradun:  A group of scientist discussed different techniques to test adulteration in food and cosmetic during the workshop OPTMIST 2019, organized by Graphic Era Deemed University on Friday.

Concluding day of the workshop witnessed good number of participants from different institution of the country. The Chemistry department of Graphic Era Deemed University in collaboration with Indian Institute of Petroleum Dehradun organized the workshop.

While addressing the participants, chief guest of the workshop Dr. Anjan Ray, Director Indian Institute of Petroleum educated participants about the steps taken to address the need of automation and refining to Indian market and new techniques introduced in this sectors.

General Manager of ONGC Mr. Ashok Raina, who was also present in the workshop, said that in order to prepare student for future challenges we have to educate students about new analytical techniques so that they can compete with up coming competition. In the workshop scientist of Indian Institute of Petroleum also demonstrated latest available technology and modern analytical equipment to the students.

In the workshop the Chancellor of Graphic Era Deemed Univeristy, Professor (Dr.) R.C. Joshi, Pro Vice Chancellor, Dr. H.N. Nagaraja, Dr. Arunima Nayak, HOD Chemistry Department, Dr. Abhilasha Mishra, Dr. Sanjeev Majumdar, other faculty members  and students of were  also present .

 

Graphic era celebrated 550th Prakash Parva

Graphic Era (Deemed to be University) celebrated 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev ji as “Prakash Parva”  with great enthusiasm and reverence today.

 The entire Graphic Era university was decorated with flowers to celebrate  this occasion of 550th birth anniversary of Sikh’s first religious guru and a great social reformer Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.  According to traditional veneration, precinct of university was cleaned with holy water “ Ganga Jal” and flowers were offered to Shri Guru Granth Sahib at 9 o’clock in the morning. The programme was started with the sacred slogan of “Jo bole so nihal sat shree Akal”. V

Simran Jeet Kaur, the student of BBA, recited the Jap ji Sahab Path and has explained its meaning in English also. The euphony of shabad kirtan by Ragi Kuldeep Singh and his team has enchanted all the people present in the ceremony. The most unique and notable act by the students was that they themselves  prepared the food for Langar  with the great respect and veneration for their holy Guru.

The Vice Chancellor of (Deemed to be University), Dr. Rakesh Kumar Sharma, Pro V. C, Dr HN Nagraja,  Vice Chancellor of Graphic Era Hill University Dr. Sanjay Jasola and other esteemed guests  and students were present at the occasion .

Dehradun 11 November 2019, Digital revolution can prove to be a milestone in changing the conditions of domestic industries. This came from experts from prestigious universities of the world in International symposium held at Graphic Era.

Under the global evolving marketing strategies GEMS 2019, the students of the management department were informed about the importance of the fourth industrial revolution. Chancellor of Graphic Era deemed university Prof. Dr. R C Joshi emphasised on the need for research into the first industrial revolution in the 18th century and the subsequent revolutionary changes in the industry. Prof. Dr. Lutz H. Schminke of University of applied science Germany said that the Indian industries should change according to the latest technological advancements which can give them more benefits at the world level. He described the digital revolution in indian medium, small scale industries as a milestone and said that youngsters need to become good entrepreneurs so that they can use industry 4.0 properly. Regional director Anil Taneja of Phd chamber of commerce said that people have the myth that digitalisation will decrease employment opportunities however that it not true as the tradition employment opportunities might decrease but the field of consultancy’s, social media and internet can bring various employment opportunities for the youngsters. Prof. Dr. Mayank dhoundiyal from Dublin Ireland who has doctorate degree in strategic management said that Indian industries have to change the standards of entrepreneurship so that they can establish themselves in the market. Uttarakhand State advisor of United Nation development programme Nitesh Kaushik said that there should be equal equilibrium between new startup’s and already established industries. On the other hand member of Phd chamber of commerce and industry and senior technical advisor Pankaj Kumar talked about the various opportunities available for the youngsters in Industry 4.0. Young entrepreneur and black chain specialists Vipin Babu spoke about the revolutionary technologies of the new era to make domestic industries globally competitive.

Graphic Era President Cup won by Computer Applications Department 

Graphic Era President's Cup title was won by Computer Applications Department. Out of 14 teams of Graphic Era University, Computer Applications Team beat the Btech CS team by 28 runs. Computer application team gave the target of 151 runs to Btech CS in the first innings of the  game. The President cup started from November 7th and the final match was played between Btech CS and Computer applications department.

Sufiyan Ali from MCA department took 4wickets and declared Man of the Match.

Btech CS team chased down the target to 127 runs. Rishabh Mishra of computer department with the help of 7 fours and 1 six played tremendously and scored 38runs. In the entire series, Mr. Yashpal Rawat played the role of referee, Dr. A.S. Shukla made a commentary in the match.

TECHNOLOGY HAS TO GO FROM LAB TO LAND FOR ENHANCING DEVELOPMENT: SHRI SUBODH UNIYAL

TWO DAY NATIONAL WORKSHOP ON “SUSTAINABLE RURAL DEVELOPMENT” BEGINS AT GRAPHIC ERA

22-11-2019, Dehradun .Technology has to go from lab to land for enhancing the process of development this was said by the State Agriculture Minister Shri Subodh Uniyal in the premises of Graphic Era Deemed to Be University. He was addressing a two day National Workshop on Sustainable Rural Development through Aromatic and Medicinal plants: Skill development and startups today.

Shri Subodh Uniyal said that the State of Uttarakhand was formed with an objective of developing the hilly areas this is only possible if we stop the problem of migration and initiate farming and small scale industrial development of various aromatic and medicinal plants in the region. This will also provide employment opportunities to the people of Uttarakhand and he also said that progressive migration done with right intention can also pave the path for development. He also said that development of any region is possible if the political mindset for development is firm enough. He said that tourism and agriculture are the two most important parameters for enhancing development.

On this occasion Director of Center of Aromatic Plants Selaqui Dr Nirpendra Chauhan signed an MOU with Graphic Era Deemed to be University for creating awareness amongst the students and giving them opportunities for training and research. He advised the students to take various opportunities in the aromatic industry and try to become entrepreneurs with hard work and dedication.

ThePro-Vice Chancellor of the University, Pro. Dr. H.N.Nagaraja said that the objective this workshop is to create awareness amongst the students that rural areas can be developed by various start-ups like plantation of medicinal and aromatic plants.

Vice Chancellor of Graphic Era Hill University Prof (Dr) Sanjay Jasola said that Graphic Era has been actively participating in farming of lemon grass, increasing mushroom production and orchid farming by the students in the university premises.

GRAPHIC ERA’S STUDENTS EXTRAORDINARY CONTRIBUTION: NISHANK

Dehradun, 27th November. Union Human Resource Development Minister Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank inaugurated the ambitious portal "Abhiyanta" of All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) in Delhi. This portal will provide e-content related to new technologies of the world like Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, Big Data, Augmented Reality etc. This portal has been prepared by the students of Graphic Era Deemed University.

Human Resource Development Minister Mr. Pokhriyal at the ceremony held at Shastri Bhawan, Delhi congratulated AICTE for its excellent initiative and appreciated the extraordinary contribution of students of Graphic Era Deemed University. The Union Minister termed this work of student as an excellent example of duty towards the country and society. The portal was launched at a function organized on the Constitution Day under the nationwide “Nagrik Kartavya Paalan Abhiyan” campaign.

Prof Anil Sahasarbudhe, Chairman AICTE  during the ceremony said that this portal has been developed free of cost by the students of Graphic Era  Deemed University, under an internship project of AICTE in a record time and will be of immense use in making authentic and quality learning resources in emerging areas i.e. Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, Big Data, Augmented Reality etc available to the student community free of cost .

This portal has been prepared by the students Shivanshu Gupta, Rishit Agarwal, Anant Jakhmola,, Ritik Agarwal, Kartikeya Sawhney , Sakshi Goyal,Nav Jindal ,Akash Pandey and Prachi Pundir of B.Tech(Vth Semester) of Graphic Era Deemed University . Minister of State for HRD Shri Sanjay Dhotre ,Secretary, Higher education, MHRD Shri R. Subrahmanyam ,Secretary UGC, Shri Rajnish Jain and Director IISER Kolkata, Shri Sourav Pal and senior officials of the ministry were also present on the occasion.

GRAPHIC ERA BAGGED 4TH POSITION AT NATIONAL LEVEL FOR DESIGNING ELECTRIC CAR

Dehradun, 29 November. Students of Graphic Era Deemed University have secured fourth position in the country by making an electric car. Graphic Era's team at Shell Eco Marathon India received Rs 2.5 lakh prize money at the National level.

At the Shell Eco Marathon India-2019 held in Bangalore, Graphic Era's team E-Square won the Circular Economy Award for the Offtrack event by creating an electric prototype car. The award was given for a single-seater racing car running 108 kilometers per kilowatt power. Under the leadership of mechanical engineering faculty Gagan Bansal, Team E-Square participated in the competition. The team at Graphic Era competed with their car in a petrol prototype car bout. The university team entered the competition for the first time with an electric eco-cart. This team secured 4th position in the National competition. Graphic Era's management provided more than three lakh rupees assistance to the team for preparing this car.

B. Tech mechanical engineering final year students Madhur Saxena and Satyam Negi (team manager) along with Shivanshu Gaur, Udit, Ritij, Nishant, Prakhar, Sachin, Abhinav Devrani, Abhishek, Akshant, Rohan, Pranav Joshi, Priyanshu, Animesh, Vaibhav Bisht, Akshat, Vaibhav Nainwal, Anjas, Ujjwal, Akansha, Anamika and Riya were the participants of the team.

Prof. (Dr) Kamal Ghansala, Graphic Era Group, congratulated the team and said that the university is providing world class laboratories and facilities. And these facilities should be used extensively for innovation and research.
