Graphic Era will give alternative of Plastic to the World

Preparation to make a New World Record this month

Dehradun, 12th December. Engineering students, who created the world's largest idols with paper Mache and recorded Graphic Era’s name in the Guinness Book, are now preparing to break their own world records. The special thing this time is that these students are also preparing to give the gift of new plastic alternative to the world.

Yuvraj Joshi and Yatharth Joshi, students of M Tech of Graphic Era Deemed University, created a new history in May 2018 by making 4.29 meter tall statues of Mahatma Gandhi, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, APJ Abdul Kalam and Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel. It was included in the Guinness Book of World Records. Earlier, Mexico held the world record for making the largest statue of paper mache. These statues were created by Yuvraj Joshi and Yatharth Joshi, who broke the world record of Mexico. These statues were prepared without the usage of any metal or other solid thing. After this, Yuvraj and Yatharth Joshis’s team made another world record in December 2018 by making the world's largest ball from waste paper.

Yuvraj Joshi said that to break his own world record of last year, now on the occasion of 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, PSLV. Mangalyaan, Hal Tejas, BrahMos and Bapu's charkha are being given the form of a statue and will be established in the university premises. Their height will be more than 4.29 meters and width will be more than 4.7 meters.

He informed that a special type of pulp is being made from waste paper in such a way that it will become an alternative for plastic for the whole world, concerned about plastic pollution. The process of patenting of this special method has been started. This team of students has won the award at the national level by making the outer body of the car using this paper pulp as plastic.

These teams of Yuvraj Joshi and Yatharth Joshi, who are M.tech students are also working in the University, have included students from various courses. This team has been named Team Paper Tack. These statues are expected to be ready by the 25th of this month.

Prof. Dr. Kamal Ghansala, President, Graphic Era Group, appreciated the achievements of Team Paper Tack and said that success in finding alternative to plastic will be a big gift for the whole world. He said that the environment and laboratories of Graphic Era inspire youngsters to prepare and invent new inventions. The new inventions that occur one after another are proof of this.

 

IOT An Emerging Technology

Prof. Dr. D.P. Agarwal of the famous Cincinnati University of America said that the need for successful use of Internet of Things is the need to increase the security provisions related to the Internet. Dr. Agrawal, today as a keynote speaker delivered a guest lecture on the topic Internet of Things at Graphic Era Deemed University. Dr. Agrawal said that an emerging technology has come into existence, today smart machines are being made by connecting machines to the internet. Prof. Dr. Aggarwal also said that Internet is an important part of the life of common people today, but if used properly. IOT is being used in the field of Agriculture, Weather and Disaster management etc. He also said, that if certain types of sensors are connected to the IOT, then people can get an opportunity to be alert from disasters like earthquake, similarly, the applications installed in our smartphones has proved helpful in assessing the complex diseases of the body and reaching the root of the disease. Prof. Vice Chancellor of Graphic Era deemed University, Dr. H.N.Nagaraja thanked Dr. Agrawal for having one on one interaction which gave the students a practical knowledge of new technology and its use in their daily life. The Chancellor of Graphic Era deemed university Dr. R.C.Joshi along with the PhD scholars and teachers were present in this program. 

 

Amazon selects 7 students from Graphic Era

Graphic era has once again proven its efficiency in the campus placement drive. World’s renowned company Amazon has given a package of 30 lakh rupees to 7 students of Graphic Era (Deemed to be University).

After various round of written examination and interview Amazon has selected 7 students of Graphic Era. A grand celebration took place in the University premises today to celebrate the selection of 7 students for American company Amazon. On this occasions the selected students Rishabh Malik, Aman Bijlwan, Priyanka Gujral, Ambar Saxena, Ravindra Singh Bisht, Ishita Verma, and Hitendra were given 21000 rupees each for grabbing the placement. Students expressed there happiness by tapping there feet for long. All the selected students were from B.Tech Computer science engineering of Graphic Era (Deemed to be University).

In the placement drive of Amazon students of Petroleum University and DIT were also present along with the students of Graphic Era. In this drive Amazon has selected 10 students out of which 3 students are from Petroleum University. After successful internship the selected students will be getting a package of 30.25 lakh rupees by Amazon.

Graphic Era (Deemed to be University) and Graphic era Hill university known for giving record breaking placements in the various renowned companies of the world have placed 1610 students till now in the placement drive held this year. Many other leading companies are coming for the placement drive in the University.
