Citing the role and importance of model design in tyre manufacturing industry, he said that if temperature, weight, quality of the rubber used, vehicle's minimum and maximum speed and state of road are accurately judged, then through virtual model method, best quality tyre can be manufactured. With the help of self-designed software tool UMAT (user material) he displayed the mathematical and practical parameters and formulas to understand the behaviour of tyre. This can help in understanding the reasons of tyre failure and can also help in modifying the tyre design. The students of mechanical department discussed their practical difficulties they face while making student formula car. Dr Niraj Kumar Jha was welcomed by Mr Puneet Gupta of HOD of mechanical department. The program was anchored by Dr Ritvik Dobriyal.  Renowned Geophysicist Mr Satinder Chopra conducts workshop on seismic attribution

“Machine learning can increase petroleum production”:

Renowned Geophysicist, Mr. Satinder Chopra. Chief geophysicist in Arcis Corporation, Canada, conducted a workshop on seismic attribution at Graphic Era Deemed to be University, on 5 April, 2019. In his expert talk he stated that tmore crude oil can be extracted in less time by using machine learning and neural networks in oil exploration. The use of machine learning and neural network will make oil exploration more precise, as compared to traditional techniques. This technique is relatively fast and also increases the quantity of oil extracted. In extracting crude oil, the internal layers of earth are studied using Seismic Technology. Algorithm can be made using these figures.

Mr. Satinder Chopra also spoke about Seismic wave accumulation, Seismic cube method, Seismic attributes, and Seismic Impedance Inversion. Prof H N Nagraja, Pro Vice Chancellor, Graphic era deemed to be University, Prof . Pradeep Joshi HOD, Department of Petroleum Engineering, Dr D S Bisht from ONGC and other faculty members and students were also present.
