Graphic Era celebrates its Silver jubilee

Prof. Ghanshala urges the students to remain focused on their goal for success:

Silver jubilee of Graphic Era was celebrated with great enthusiasm. Speaking on this occasion, President, Graphic Era Group, Professor Kamal Ghanshala said that the actual success of Graphic Era is the achievement of its students. He added that constant focus on the goal and chasing it with full potential is the guarantee to success. Prof. Ghanshala also completed 25 years of his professional life as a teacher today.

Remembering the journey of Graphic Era from a small beginning growing into two universities and three campuses today, Prof . Ghanshala said that he began his journey as a teacher with just one attendant from a computer training centre 25 years ago. With the passage of time people joined in and pitched their efforts and organization got bigger and bigger.

On this occasion students asked him many question , while replying to questions Prof Ghanshala said that his and every teacher’s role in the life of a student is like that of a coach of a cricket team. Coach trains and prepares the team. Students are like players of a team and playing the match of their lives and achieving something is their work. He added that more than 30 thousand alumni of Graphic Era have already established themselves as successful professionals in prominent companies across the globe. Hundreds of new names get added to this list every year and this is the actual success of Graphic Era.

Citing examples of Graphic Era alumni working in America, Britain and other countries, he said that it’s the quality of Graphic Era which makes it possible. He added that more than half of the students studying in Graphic Era presently will be working in countries like America, Canada and Britain in the next seven years, provided they remain focused on their goals.Prof Ghanshala also felicitated the first employee of Graphic Era, Mr. Chet Singh Bhandari, first student and now a teacher, Mr. Sachin Ghai along with Mr. P C Barthwal, Mr. R K Joshi, Mr. Arvind Pujari, Mr. Anil Chauhan, Dr. Deepak Rawat, Mr. D S Rawat, Mr. Madhukar Bansal, Mr. B C Bisht, Dr. A S Shukla and others,who had served the institution more than twenty years. A huge cake was cut on the occasion and students were seen celebrating and dancing till late.

Earlier, while speaking during the silver jubilee celebrations in Graphic Era Hill University, President, Graphic Era Group, Dr. Kamal Ghanshala said that work is being done to bring Graphic Era Deemed University in the union government’s list of top 100 universities in the country. The university is presently in the list of top 150 universities in the country. Students of Hill University were also seen dancing on the tunes of peppy numbers till late.

The Chief Patron of Graphic Era Group, Mr R C Ghanshala, President of Graphic Era Society, Mrs Lakshmi Ghanshala, Vice Chancellor (Officiating) of Graphic Era Deemed University, Prof. H N Nagrajan, Registrar, Dr. Pankaj Rana, Vice Chancellor, Graphic Era Hill University, Prof. Sanjay Jasola, Registrar, D P Thapliyal, senior office bearers, Dr. V K Trivedi, Prof. A K Awasthi, Prof Praveen Patil and Prof. D P Gangodkar, Prof. Raj Dhar, Prof M.P Singh , Prof R.G. Sharma and other faculty members remained present on the occasion.

The Hotel Management Department of Graphic Era Deemed to be University organized Rising Star competition to mark the World Tourism Day, on 27 September.

Department of Hotel Management of Graphic Era along with Amrapali Institute at Haldwani was adjudged the winner of the competition. The objective of this competition was to inculcate a healthy competition among the students and hone their culinary skills suitable for Hotel and Tourism industry. The competition process consisted of five rounds in hospitality, namely, Culinary showdown(chef comp.), Speak out(paper presentation, Quiz up(hospitality quiz), Fiery flaring(cocktail and mocktail) and galaxy(mini gardening) Gardens. Parth Khera, Rahul Gupta, Samar Bisht, Shibham Singh Rana and Nikita Bhomik of Graphic Era University along with Rohit Joshi, Dilpreet Singh, Pradeep Bhatt, Akshit, Amit Kala, Deepak Mehra, Rohit Shaah of Amrapali University stood first in the competition with maximum scores.

On the other hand, Divya Chhabra, Rohit Bisht, Deepakshi Dixit Trever of Grpahic Era Unviersity, won second position in the competition. The competition was judged by experts from tourism and hospitality on the basis of international standards.

Prof Tahir Sufi, Head of the Department, Hotel Management , in his welcome speech said that the motive of this inter-university competition on World Tourism Day is to educate and create awareness among the students about new skill requirements and the emerging trends in the tourism and hotel industry. A large number of students, representing HM department Graphic Era University, Subharthi University, Institute of Hotel Management Tehri, IHM Dehradun, Kukreja Institute of Hotel Management, Rana College Jalandhar, Doon Bar Academy. Amrpali Institute of Hotel Management Haldwani and Alpine Hospitality College participated in the event.
