Another Leap of Graphic Era

NBA Accredits University in Engineering

Graphic Era Deemed to be University has achieved another mile stone in the field of higher education as the National Board of Accreditation (N.B.A) has granted accreditation to the university in the field of engineering programs. NBA is the highest government evaluating agency in the field of higher education. Graphic Era Deemed University is the only university in the state to be granted accreditation in three engineering disciplines. Letter to this effect from Secretary of National Board of Accreditation, Dr. Anil Kumar Nasa was received 0n 22 October, 2018 informing about the accreditation being granted for Computer Science Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. This accreditation has been granted till 2021. There is jubilation and celebration all over the University.

President Graphic Era Group, Prof Kamal Ghanshala congratulated the University officials, faculty, staff and students on this achievement.He stated that this accreditation has opened new opportunities for the University to work with universities of international repute in the domain of research, placement and education. He added that this accreditation will not only benefit students but also the faculty.

Vice Chancellorof the University , Dr Rakesh Sharma said that this accreditation has been awarded to the university for its innovative practices of using new technologies in education , research, state-of-the-art laboratories , community development , infrastructure and placements.

With this Accreditation University has achieved one more laurel. Earlier Graphic Era Deemed to be University received A Grade from NAAC and has been listed among top 150 universities of India in NIRF ranking as released by the Human Resource Ministry of Central government.

Students learnt how to develop hobby into an enterprise

A photography workshop was organized jointly by Graphic Era (Deemed to be University) and city-based trust, Valley of Words, where the students were taught how to develop their hobby of photography into a successful enterprise A similar workshop was organized in Graphic Era Hill University, where experts from Canon Imaging Academy taught the students about the possibility of entrepreneurship in the field of cinematography and wedding and fashion photography. On this occasion Senior IAS officer and additional Chief Secretary West Bengal Government, Mr. Sanjeev Chopra shared his views on rapid development in the field of photography and its importance in reaching out to the masses. He also emphasized on developing photography into an enterprise.

In the workshop, senior photo journalist Mr. Bhumesh Bharti shared the technical skills of still photography and videography encouraging the students to master the skill. He also informed them about the changing trends in the industry and the latest photography techniques. Dr. Avinash Chandra Joshi, Director (HR) Uttarakhand Water Electricity Board, taught students the mantra to convert their hobby of photography into a successful business. He also informed students about the latest trends in mobile photography and videography and taught them the skills of composition and framing. Many of students from Engineering, Management, Media and Mass Communication, Fine Arts and Animation departments in Graphic Era University and Graphic Era Hill University participated in the workshop. Prof H N Nagaraja , Pro Vice Chancellor of Graphic Era University, faculty members and officials of the university remained present at the workshop. The event was coordinated by Dr. Girish Lakhera.

Garba frenzy in Graphic Era

Dehradun, 17th October: Graphic Era Hill University celebrated the Garba Dance evening with full enthusiasm and frenzy. Organised by the department of Media and Mass Communication, the students of the university were seen dancing to the tunes of garba songs like Chaugada Thara, Chhabeela Thara and Udi Udi Jaye dil ki patang. The special thing about this event was that people from various communities were present during the celebrations.

Dressed in Gujrati ethnic costumes the student dancers left the audience mesmerized with their dance performance. The students of MA and BA Mass Communications and English Honors performed a dance number on udi udi jaye dil ki patang. Audience tapped their feet to hit garba numbers performed by Mahima, Pyano, Himanshi, Sandhya, Damini, Shruti, Vidushi, Anukriti, Shivani, Meenakshi and Akash. This was followed by Garba and Dandiya fusion performed by students of MA (Journalism and Mass Communication) including Harleen Kaur, Bhawna , Malika, Ritika, Diksha, Garima and others performed a dance on Chaugada Thara, Chhabeela Thara.

The students of Media and Mass Communication department had decorated the grounds with gujrati and garba theme. The beautifully decorated ground, with rangoli, painted pots, dandiya sticks and other items along with traditionally dressed and decked up boys and girls were a spectacle to behold by one and all. Urvashi and Manav from BJMC sang a Bhajan that left the audience in a completely spiritual mode. A garba song performance by Ankita from BBA, Aman from B.Tech, Hemant from B.Sc Physics, Saurabh from B.Tech, Kaveri from B.Sc(IT) and Sanyam from BJMC left the audience spell bound. Prior to this Vice Chancellor, Graphic Era Hill University, Prof (Dr.) Sanjay Jasola lit the lamp and inaugurated the event. He also congratulated the students of Media and Mass Communication for organizing such an event.

Director, Infrastructure, Prof. Dr Subhash Gupta, Coordinator of the event and HOD Media and Mass Communication Department, Taha Siddiqui, Media Mass Communication, Faculty members Himani Bijola, Shivani Pant, Vikram Rautela, Sandeep Bhatt, Shikha Tyagi along with HOD Physics, Dr Vijay Gupta, HOD Management, Dr. Vishal Sagar and other Heads of the department along with other faculty members were present on the occasion.


The NCC wing of Graphic Era organized ‘Daring Troopers’ to test the mental and physical abilities of the students and enhance their personality. The various programs held under the event were aimed at inculcating the spirit of team work and nation building. The event was organized on 15 October, 2018. 80 teams from Graphic Era University and Graphic Era Hill University participated in the activities. Highlight of the event was that two girls had to participate in each team. In the first qualifying round, every team had to qualify in the Tug –o- War and only then they were allowed to enter the second round. The second round had games like rope web, Balance me, Sac Race, Camel climb, Spice it up, dumb charades and cycling. The top three teams qualifying the second round were declared as winners. The event was coordinated by Lt. Shivangi Barthwal of NCC. Many university officials were present at this occasion , like Senior Administrative Officer Shri D.S Rawat, Shri B.S Negi and other dignitaries.

Two day Blood donation came begins at Graphic Era

Graphic Era periodically organizes The blood donation camps in which students and faculty voluntarily donate blood . A two day blood camp was organized 10- 11 October . The camp was inaugurated jointly by the chief secretary of Indian Red Cross Society Dr. I.S Pal, President of Graphic Era Group Prof. Kamal Ghanshala and Chief Patron of Graphic Era Shri R.C Ghanshala.

On the first day of the camp 1011 units of blood were collected. In order to help the needy people, these units were distributed to the major blood banks of the city, 155 Units of blood were collected by IMA Blood Bank, 305 blood units by Himalayan Hospital Jollygrant, 406 blood units by Mahant Indresh and 145 blood units by AIIMS Rishikesh. AIIMS Rishikesh participated in Graphic Era’s Blood donation camp for the first time.

Excitement of the students could be seen by the long queues in camps of both Graphic Era Hill University and Graphic Era Deemed to be University. The interesting fact of the camp is that girls participated in huge numbers for blood donation. Students stood in long queues for pre donation checkups like Hemoglobin, body weight as they were permitted only after checking the eligibility criteria.

Prof. Kamal Ghanshala presented flowers to encourage the students and faculty members volunteered to donate blood for the first time. He also appreciated the students donating blood for more than one time. Prof. Ghanshala said that along with preparing professionals for industries in India and abroad, Graphic Era also inculcates moral values in its students so that they become good human beings and feel a social responsibility. Organizing blood donation camps and creating records in blood donation from past several years is associated with the social responsibilities of Graphic Era Dehradun,.

Helping is an old tradition here

Graphic Era is being helping the needy people from the last 17 years. This initiative of Graphic Era Hill University was started in the year 2001 and since then Graphic Era is continuing with this tradition. In these 17 years, 34 blood donation camps have been organized .


Siddhant Sawai is an example for others

In spite of the being differently abled since birth Siddhant Sawai , student of M.Tech, is an inspiration for many, he has donated blood five times.


Paru and Ashima become inspiration for others

The environment of Graphic Era not only prepares its students for professional life but it also inspires them to work for the benefit of the society. Paru Gaur of B.Tech CS and Ashima Agarwal of B.Tech Biotech placed in TCS and Dabur respectively are the volunteers of NSS. They have been working for the blood donation camp since morning. Paru Gaur donated blood for the 8 time and Ashima Agarwal for 9 time.


Prof. Manish donates blood 20th time

Associate Professor Manish Sharma of CS Department of Graphic Era Deemed to be University donated blood for 20th time . The Head of the Department B.COM(hons.), Graphic Era Hill University Prof Rahul Raj donated blood for 15th time, Assistant Professor Aditya Harbola , Sardar Swarn Jeet Singh donated blood for 15th time and Shri Gagan Bansal donated blood for 7 time.
