National Level Engineering Talent Search (AIEEA-2017) Rs. 10 lac FIRST PRIZE winner Over Rs. 40 lac Cash Awards for engineering aspirants

Aspiring students who are nursing the dream of becoming competent engineers can now work their way towards the fulfillment of their dream and achieve recognition. An All India Engineering Aptitude Award (AIEAA) has been announced by Graphic Era as an innovative plan for those talented students who are not able to get into a good engineering institution due to financial reasons. The test will be held on 6 May, 2017  at 130 centres across India. The winner will receive a cash award of Rs. 10 lacs.  The top rank holders will receive cash prizes of more than 40 lakh rupees

Under this plan, students who will be appearing in class XII or have passed class XII in 2016 in PCM/PCB Stream and are aspiring to be engineers will be eligible to take this Online Test.

Speaking on the occasion of commemoration of the Silver Jubilee Year celebrations of Graphic Era , Prof (Dr)Kamal Ghanshala ; Chancellor Graphic Era University said, “ AIEAA  is an  initiative to search  Engineering Talent on national level. The intent behind the test is to motivate students to opt for engineering courses and play a significant role in technological development of the country.  Those students who have a keen aptitude for technology and want to pursue engineering study programs in premier institutions but due to financial constraints are unable to do so. They will be able   to fulfill their dreams through All India Engineering Test Awards. As part of the award, the winners of this competition will be provided with financial assistance to enroll anywhere in the country or abroad to pursue their engineering education.”

Dr Ghanshala also shared the information that a total of 130 centers across the country have been created for the All India Engineering Aptitude Test Award. These centers have been created in several prominent cities across the country which will provide an opportunity for students to access the centers nearest to their homes. It is for the very first time when one university is supporting student for entering into another university and with the notion of promoting ‘Make In India’ .

The details of the cash prize are as follows:

  • 1st Prize: 10 lakh rupees.
  • Second prize is 5 lakh rupees
  • Third prize is 2.5 lakh rupees.
  • Rs. 1 lac each will be given for 3rd, 4th and 5th rank holders.
  • Five cash prizes of 50,000 rupees each  
  • Ten cash prizes of 25000 rupees each.
  • 421 other cash prizes would be awarded.

The winners of this award will get financial support to study anywhere in the country or abroad. Students, who have completed their 12th standard in 2016 or will be appearing this year in class XII examination, will be eligible to take the test.  

In addition to this, students securing the top 500 positions will get 100% scholarship if they opt for admission in Graphic Era University or Graphic Era Hill University. Those securing the top 1,000 positions in the competition will be given direct entry in Graphic Era.

Graphic Era University having a highest score in the region for the accreditation with NAAC ‘A’ grade has also collaborated with Tata Technologies in establishing ultra modern lab that is under process, this endeavour will would be of great advantage for preparing industry ready engineers. In the upcoming session students in the field of engineering – Mechanical, automobile, electronic or electrical will be using those latest technologies that are used in the industries all over the world. This would pave way for preparing industry ready  professional engineers.

At this occasion the Vice Chancellor of Graphic Era University Dr B.V Babu, Vice Chancellor of Graphic Era Hill University Dr Sanjay Jasola, Advisor Dr R.C Joshi, Director-General Dr V.K Tiwari and Add.Director Dr A.K Awasthi were  also present .

With the announcement of this unique initiative year long silver jubilee celebrations have started in Graphic Era.  On this occasion an entertainment program was also organized for students and it witnessed an enthusiastic participation by thousands of students who danced in gay abandon on the tunes of DJ .




Graphians taste the aroma of coffee

The School of Hotel Management and Hospitality conducted   one day special Barista training program on "Art of Coffee Brewing" by special Coffee brewing experts on Saturday , 4 Feburary, 2017, at Graphic Era University. This was a  unique and first of its kind, event in any Hospitality institute in Dehradun wherein the nitty-gritty details of coffee brewing and demonstration on coffee beans, their roasting techniques, their grinding types and brewing styles was demonstrated to  the students.  Each student learnt to brew a perfect cup of coffee. Coffee brewing experts,  Mr. Tushar Arora & Mr. Surya Pundir conducted this special training session on coffee brewing and individually trained the students in all the aspects of coffee brewing

Prof (Dr)  Vinay Rana, Head –School of Hotel management and Hospitality, GEU explained the objective of this special session. He said that the coffee is one the largely consumed beverages worldwide; students need to understand all the aspect of this wonderful beverage from growing of coffee beans, their processing, grinding, roasting to brewing, so that students can start their entrepreneurship projects in this specialist area.

The coordinator for this workshop Mr. Amar Dabral stated that such workshops have become the need of the hour to understand the contemporary trends in food and beverage industry.

Dr. B.V. Babu, Vice Chancellor of Graphic Era University was present at the session and motivated the students to understand and learn specialist skills to help start their entrepreneur venture and become job providers instead of job seekers. Mr. Vipul Bhandari, Ms.Aditi Bisht & Mrs. Sonam Kapoor Semwal  and the students of SOHMH were also present at the workshop.




Graphic Era to start B.Com International Accountant and Finance’ Program from Academic Session 2017 in collaboration with ACCA (The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) along with the learning partner ISDC (International skill Development Corporation)

A memorandum of understanding (MOU) has been signed between Graphic Era group and ACCA (The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) along with the learning partner ISDC (International skill Development Corporation) to launch a new study program under the nomenclature, B.Com International Accountant and Finance, from, new the academic session 2017. The study program has been jointly designed, by GEU, GEHU, ACCA and ISDC, the renowned organizations of Britain.

The objective of this program is to make the students of commerce department industry ready at the international level and to minimize the problem of brain-drain in Uttarakhand and nation-wide.

More than 891 commerce graduates working in top 100 Forbes recognized international companies have graduated in the same program.

Speaking at this event, the Vice Chancellor of Graphic Era University, Prof (Dr.) B.V.Babu said that this study program will start simultaneously in Graphic Era Hill University and Graphic Era University.

The executive director of ACCA, Alan Hatfield stated that the course curriculum  has been  designed with the help of ACCA and ISDC and will have recognition in  183 countries worldwide. The representative of ISDC, Head of Strategy, Joseph Tom said that this course has been designed keeping in mind the international industry needs. During this course many workshops will be conducted in order to meet the prospective demands of the international industry.

Thapliyal along with the HOD of Commerce Department of GEHU Dr Arvind Mohan and GEU Dr. Rupa Khanna were present on the occasion and signed the MOU.
