Graphic Era Ranked No. 1 in Making Formula Racing Car

Graphic Era University ranked first position in the northern Zone competition of designing formula racing car held in Greater NOIDA.

Students of Mechanical and Automobile Engineering won the laurels  by achieving the first position in designing  the racing car. The racing car with a striking feature of open single seater car ,created landmark by winning third position from all over India. This competition was held among 300 teams.  The team of Graphic Era won the competition in five rounds among fifty competitors.

Graphic Era team defeated the last years defending champions Whits Swaggor by  32 seconds and created a new record.
Graphic Era University participated in this competition at Eco -cart 2015, organized by Gautam Budh University. This team was rewarded with cash prize of 15,ooo rupees and second runner- up trophy.

Right from body making, motor, controller, breaking and transmission system, mobile battery to welding was designed and manufactured by the students. Prof. Puneet Gupta, HOD Mechanical Engineering informed that the entire process of designing and manufacturing took three weeks and the cost of project was approximately 1.5 lakhs.

Tushar Gupta, faculty of Mechanical Engineering Department who accompanied the winning team of Graphic Era at this national level competition informed that in the second round itself the car designed by the students completed the 50 meters track in just nine seconds and left the spectators awestruck. He further said that in the next round this car  cleared its brake test in just 7.34 seconds. The team of Graphic Era led by Ankit Sharma, comprised Himanshu Pandey, Saurabh Rathore, Nishtha Uniyal, Sabha Sabari, Sachin Mehra, Subhanshu Rawat, Harsh Kumar, Ankit Kumar, Pulkit, Apoorva Gupta(pilot of the car), Kabir Pant, Deepak Negi, Devendra Bisht, Rajat Jain. Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Department, Anurag Singh boosted the morale of the team by accompanying them .

Dr. Kamal Ghanshala, President Graphic Era University announced a cash prize of Rs. 50,000 for the outstanding performance of the winning team.  Dr. Ghanshala informed that an MOU with Birmingham city University has been signed for exchange of formula racing car, jet engine and intelligent robot techonology. Vice Chancellor Dr. V.K. Tiwari revealed that the second team of the student is dedicatedly working towards the preparation of petrol engine car for participation in the  forth coming formula racing car, being organized at Bhopal.

144 Placements at Graphic Era

144 more students of Graphic Era have received placement offers from top notch multinational companies. Including this number the total count of placed students even before receiving their degrees has reached 1160. The highest package grossed by any student so fare is 6 lac per annum offered to a B.Tech student by LG Soft.

Today Indian Army has initiated the process to select students of pre final year in the college premises. 300 students of Graphic Era are appearing in the interview to be commissioned into the Indian Army. The salient feature of placement this year that the first batch of B.Com (Hons) students of Graphic Era Hill University has also received placements offers in prominent company.

Dr. Rajesh Pokhriyal, placement coordinator of the University informed that Sanchit Goyal (B.tech) student has received placement from LG Soft at a package of 6 lac p.a., Zycus has offered a package of 6 lac to Swati Sharma, MBA student. XL Dynamics has offered a package of 3.5 lac to one of our MBA student. SBI Life has selected four students of MBA at a package of 2.5 lac p.a. CSC selected 19 students of B.Tech at an annual package of 3.4 lac p.a.

In addition to these placements Sage publications has offered placement to 6 B.Com (Hons) and BBA students at an annual package of 2.4 lac. Syntel has selected 13 students of B.Com (Hons), BBA and BCA, Infosys has given placement offers to 34 students of BCA and B.Sc.(IT), Live Technician offered placement to 20 B.Tech student whereas Genpact selected 37 students of B.Tech and 1 student of MBA got placement offer from Avantha.

National Seminar on Welding Research

Dr. Rajendra Dobhal, Director General of UCOST exhorted the need to use scientific research for the purpose of commercial use while addressing the National Seminar on welding.

Today Graphic Era University organized a seminar on the standards and advancement in the fields of scientific research and experiments in the field of welding. While highlighting the role of academicians and researchers Dr. Dobhal stated that they have a vital role to play in the field of scientific research. he also stated that the technology developed from the experiments and various researched are being patented at a large scale, however their commercial and industrial use is minimal and it need to be increased for better productivity.

Prof. P. K. Ghosh (Dean IIT Roorkee) threw light on the various techniques of fusion welding, safety and welding and various methods of welding while expressing his views in the seminar as a main speaker. Jitender Singh Chaudhary from Hero Motors, Dr. V. P. Dutta from DEAL and many other eminent scientist expressed their views on various researches done in the field of welding. On the first day of the seminar 22 research papers were presented on welding.

The seminar was addressed by Dr. R. C. Joshi, Chancellor Graphic Era University, Dr. V. K. Tewari, Vice Chancellor Graphic Era University, Dr. Sanjay Jasola Vice Chancellor Graphic Era Hill University, Mr. C. M. Dimri, President Uttarakhand Chapter of Institution of Engineers, as well as Mr. Narender Singh the Council Member. The seminar was also attended by Dr. Pravinn P. Patil, Convener of the Seminar and Dean Research, Mr. Puneet Gupta, HOD Mechanical Engg., Co convener Mr. Rajesh Verma and scholars and faculties from other departments.

This seminar was jointly organized by Graphic Era University and Institution of Engineers. This two days seminar will see participation from top notch Institutions like IIT Roorkee, NIT Jamshedpur, Gautam Budh University NOIDA besides both the universities of Graphic Era Group.

Mega blood donation camp organized at graphic era university

1140 units of blood donated in two days

Dehradun, February-25-  Graphic Era University has once again created record in Blood Donation.  1140 Units of blood was donated by the students, faculties and staff members of Graphic Era and Graphic Era Hill Universities.  Female students also participated in this blood donation camp in huge number.

Graphic Era has been creating history for past eight years by collecting record units of blood.  Following the same streak Graphic Era University this year too has created the record by donating 1140 Units of Blood.

The blood donation camps were organized at four different places at the universities of Graphic Era Group.  The process of blood donation was continuing till late evening today.
Doon Hospital, Dehradun and IMA Blood bank had conducted its camps at New HM Block of Graphic Era University and attracted the maximum crowd.  IMA Blood bank collected maximum 427 Units of blood, Doon hospital collected 167 Units where as Mahant Indresh Hospital’s team collected 176 Units at the camp conducted at Computer Science and Information Technology Block.  The camp organized at Graphic Era Hill University by Himalayan Institute Hospital could collect 370 Units of blood.

Graphic Era University’s NSS Officer and convener of the Blood donation camp Dr. Amal Shankar Shukla said that the students, faculties and staff members were excited to participate in this noble cause and are seen enthusiastic to contribute their role for society.  He added that many female students had to face disappointment also due to anemia.

The Vice Chancellor, Graphic Era Hill University Prof. Dr.Sanjay Jasola motivated students by donating blood himself.  Convener of the blood donation camp, Prof Dr. AS Shukla donated blood for 30th time, Prof. Anzar Ahmed of Electronics & Communication Department donated blood for 27th Time, where as Dean Student welfare and HOD of Hotel Management Department Dr. Neeraj Agarwal donated blood for 26th time.

The President Graphic Era University Prof. Dr Kamal Ghanshal mentioned on this very occasion that blood donation is not just to help the needy people but it also brings the feeling of national integration and communal harmony in the society.  Graphic Era family is always committed for social causes and has proved its commitments at the time of natural disaster, he added.
