Department of Management studies conducted a special session of CII resource person Ms. Nina Chatrath on “self-development for being Industry ready and Entrepreneurship”

Ms. Nina Chatrath, Leadership & Talent Management Consultant at Avvartes Partners & Resource Person of Confederation of Indian Industry interacted with the students of the Management Department. She enlightened the students with her own experiences and explained the significance of goal setting. She also focused on knowing the strengths, gaps and opportunities. She also gave her experiential insights on how following one’s passion can lead to success. She discussed that the people at the bottom have the potential to rise up the ladder and there lies the market potential. She responded to queries of students about emerging trends of the corporate world.

Department of Management Studies organized a Guest lecture on Industry 4.0 & the Managers of Future. Prof. Vaibhav Bhamoriya, a man of Agriculture, having more than six years of teaching experience at IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Indore, stated that the major components of Industry 4.0 are the Cyber Physical systems, Internet of Things and Cloud Computing. Prof. Bhamoriya, during his interaction with the students of MBA, highlighted, Industry 4.0 addresses to the Reformation of Industries in the Fourth Industrial Revolution, which is likely to create a perfect storm of business model change in all industries, resulting in emergence of new jobs along with, partly or wholly replacing others. The enlightening session of Prof. Bhamoriya concluded with the following remarks “the future managers must proactively plan, to meet the challenges of this new era of accelerating change, automation and innovation.”

Department of Management Studies conducted a guest lecture on “HR in the digital arena,”
Prof. Mridul Maheshwari, IIM Kashipur illuminated the young minds with her immense knowledge on the subject.
Professor Maheshwari mentioned that the role of traditional HR practices have now taken a back seat whereas Artificial Intelligence and IOT are the need of the hour. She also brought out the challenges before the Industries, following traditional HR Practices. The session was specially conducted for budding future HR professionals.

It was indeed a great session delivered by Mr.Rahul Chandel, Director, Digitrans, India (Alumni Graphic Era University). He provided fruitful insight on startups and jobs. He shared his corporate experiences with the students and also provided ways to perform and handle such situations. He also spoke about the importance of internships, live projects and startups with low investment. He encouraged and motivated the students to be creative, think innovative and come up with new business ideas. He is whole heartedly ready to support the students with new ideas and knowledge.

A guest lecture was conducted at Graphic Era (Deemed to be University) on the topic Etiquette of Management organized by the Department of Management Studies. The Head of the Department, Dr Manish Kumar felicitated the chief guest Dr Tahir Sufi HM Department, Graphic Era  (Deemed to be University) Dehradun. He delivered an inspiring and very knowledgeable lecture that was highly appreciated by the management students.

The lecture was on the concept of what basic etiquettes should an employee possess or in other words “Appearance will make or break the deal”

 

On the 28th of August, 2018, the students of MBA program, from Semester 1 were given the opportunity to interact with the Chairman & Managing Director of Alliance Securities, Mr Sachin Sharma

About the Guest:

Mr Sachin Sharma was a graduate of Graphic Era University’s first batch of MBA program in the year 2003, from where he was placed in ICICI Prudential Life post which he joined IDBI Bank as a Senior Relationship Manager. He also worked for the Standard Chartered Bank until 2013. Apart from his job at the Bank, Mr Sharma started a company under his Father’s name titled Alliance Securities with a manning of 04 people in the year 2008. It was not until 2013 that Mr Sachin Sharma  decided it was time to join the business as a full time employee and not as a part time worker, which was about the time he quit his job to nurture his business after which he took the company to great heights with a manpower of 2000 employees.

About the Lecture:

Mr Sharma spoke of how working for other people in another organisation had helped him broaden the horizons for his own business in a way. Working at a Bank, Mr Sharma told us how he had built good relationships with his clients by adding a personal assistance whenever there had been a need for a special gesture, of how he had wowed his clients by sometimes investing his own money & time only to build trust and that kind of a relationship that the clients would feel at ease and welcomed. He also spoke of how these factors helped him in expanding his business and how amazing it was for him to build for himself a name, a name that people had faith in, knowing that the security services were from his company, people welcomed him with open arms.

An Overview:

To be able to establish a start up it is first important to establish a good network, it is a must to work for an organisation, to learn how to discipline yourself, to nurture your skills, to attain organisational skills and most importantly to learn how to manage time and money. Last but not the least, the importance of effective and efficient recruitment, good training and taking care of the people who are working for your organisation is what takes an entrepreneur to great heights.

Ideas, Learning and Implementation Graphic Era (Deemed to be University), Department of Management had organized a Guest lecture on Ideas, Learning, Implementation and Hard work for the students of MBA 1st year in the Seminar Hall on 27th of August, 2018. The Speaker for the lecture was Dr Smarak Samajeet, the pioneer of IIM, Kashipur. He has had an experience of over 10 years. Dr. Manish Bisht, HOD of Management introduced the Speaker and Prof Pinacci greeted him with a bouquet of flowers.

In his lecture, Dr Samarjeet discussed about the ideologies and practices to be successful in life. He also inculcated the students into his discussions with questions and informations. He also introduced the participants to the Mantra of Individual Success: Ideas, Learning and Implementation. He assured the participants with his words on the fact that the three prior Mantras will not only help them shine in their MBA program but also in the longest program, “life". He gave the students a practical insight to how the real world works and how important it is to be frugal and flexible according to the situation. He concluded his lecture by summing up the necessity of the Right Idea, Right knowledge and aligned Hard work for a desired future.
