Under Graduate Programmes

Program Details:

Bachelor of Technology in Biotechnology or B.Tech. Biotechnology is an undergraduate course. Biotechnology is a field of biology that involves the application of living organisms and bioprocesses in technology, engineering, medicine and various other fields involving the modern use of genetic engineering as well as cell and tissue culture technologies. This area of study covers a wide range of techniques for manipulating living organisms according to human needs. It also finds application in Veterinary Sciences and Agriculture. It emphasizes on bridging bio-sciences and engineering by interfacing with and utilizing living things.

A specialization in Computer Science & Biology is available in B. Tech. Biotechnology Program on earning additional 10 credits in discipline of Specialization as per AICTE guidelines.

Career Prospects

B. Tech Biotechnology graduates can apply for jobs in various pharmaceutical companies. Some of those companies are Biocon, Panacea, Mankind Pharma, Dabur, Hindustan lever, Pfizer, Patanjali and many more. They can work in these companies as Marketing Manager, Quality Control officer or Production in-charge. Several other companies also provide jobs for these graduates. They can apply for jobs in several Government Research Institutes. Students can also pursue higher education in research & development.

 

Doctoral Programmes

Eligibility Master’s Degree from any AIU/UGC/AICTE recognized University/ Institutions or any other qualification recognized as equivalent thereto in the fields of study notified from time to time by the University. A minimum of 55% marks or CGPA of 5.5 on a 10 point scale in the qualifying examination (50% marks or CGPA of 5.0 on a 10 point scale for SC/ST candidates).
