The first batch of “MBA - Entrepreneurship” was launched on 20 July 2009. The course was offered to those students who had been admitted to MBA-General in GEU. Students who volunteered for this course will get their normal MBA Degree and go in for a specialization in marketing, finance or HR as any other student of MBA - General. In addition to this they are required to take an additional paper on Entrepreneurship to be taught and assessed over four semesters. The marks awarded in this paper will not be counted for award of the MBA Degree. Those students who successfully complete the course on entrepreneurship will be awarded a certificate “Certificate Course on Entrepreneurship”. Thus these students will have an additional qualification as compared to their batch mates. More important they will get a lot of practical exposure. The first batch of ‘ENTREPRENEURS’ consists of 44 highly satisfied students. The class is organized into teams to inculcate the importance of team work. To enhance the value of the “Certificate course on Entrepreneurship”, Graphic Era University has signed a “Memorandum of Understanding” With the “Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII)” Ahmedabad. (EDII is the premier Entrepreneurship development institute in India for details see their website www.ediindia.org By virtue of this The GEU, MBA Entrepreneurship Department will become a recognized Nodal Centre for conduct of the “Diploma in Business Entrepreneurship” course on behalf of EDII. Students are required to register themselves with EDII by filling an application form accompanied by a bank draft for Rs 10250. The course will be conducted at GEU and examinations will also be conducted at GEU. Course material will be provided free of cost by EDII. This Diploma will be a value addition to student resumes, help them in availing Government Loans and subsidies and also obtaining loans from financial institutions.
Students desirous of enrolling for this course may give their preference when applying for MBA-General at GEU.
